Former art gallery owner Arij Gasiunasen just sold his Palm Beach home on Clark Avenue for $5.72 million, property records show.

Gasiunasen sold the two-story, five-bedroom house at 260 Clark Avenue to Nancy Kozak of Palm Beach. It traded at a steep discount from the original $10.5 million asking price in 2014, but only an 18 percent price cut from its last asking price of $6.95 million.

Gasiunasen’s home made headlines last year when a former employee was found dead at the property. The ex-gallery owner shuttered his Worth Avenue business after former clients of his sued him, claiming Gasiunasen failed to pay for consigned art, according to published reports.

The 5,731-square-foot house, which sits on a non-waterfront 17,860-square-foot lot, sold for just under $1,000 per square foot. Gasiunasen bought the property in 2000 for $3.6 million. It was built in 1961 and features a pool and spa.

A number of non-waterfront homes in Palm Beach have been commanding higher prices. Last week, the CEO of United Business Technologies sold the home at 120 Everglades Way for $9.39 million, or more than $1,700 per square foot. In April, a townhouse on Brazilian Avenue sold for a record $6.85 million, or nearly $1,500 per square foot.
