Our cold snaps in Florida set the bloom for some orchids. We have to watch that it does not get to freezing temperatures. If the temperature gets in the 40s, water them as usual, as it is drier and windy. If it is cold for more than a few hours, cover them. If temperatures drop to the 30’s the orchids should go indoors, like a garage or covered porch.

 

Most of the year, orchids will be happy under trees where they get plenty of light and they love the gentle breeze. They just don’t like to sit in water, so do not overwater.”
